From Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean:
I blogged in this space the other night shooting down a report that the Titans were interested in former Colts receiver Marvin Harrison. ESPN reported the Titans had contacted the receiver and might pursue him.
Coach Jeff Fisher shot it down on Tuesday. After practice on Wednesday, Fisher took another shot at the ESPN reporter.
“We’ve not contacted Marvin. We’ve had no contact whatsoever with Marvin or his agent and to be quite honest with you I don’t know where Adam Schefter got that information,” he said.
Fisher said there was no chance the team would change its mind.
“No. You’ll have to just stay put and see what Adam says because he’s got a better take on what we’re doing than we do,” Fisher said.
Schefter obviously doesn't have a lot of knowledge of how the Titans have operated in the past few years. What does Harrison have to offer this team? Nothing. We needed WRs LAST YEAR, not this year. Schefter is a day late and a dollar short.
I don't know what on earth goes on at ESPN but they are the most poorly informed rumor mongers. Schefter is now on par with Chris "Shanahan to KC is a done deal" Mortenson. Schefter lost tons of credibility and obviously sources when he jumped ship to ESPN (the Favre/Patriots Network).
