The Seminoles kick Reid off of the team. Dave Miller
Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has dismissed star cornerback/return man Greg Reid from the football team.
Last month Reid was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol and was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
The 5-8, 186-pound Georgia native, who was arrested on perjury charges (which were later dropped) and suspended from a game last year, recorded 27 tackles and two interceptions in 2011. He also racked up 563 return yards and a score. In 2010 he notched 14 pass breakups, 54 tackles, a punt return score and accounted for six turnovers.
The 'Noles could move Nick Waisome or Tyler Hunter up the depth chart in light of Reid's loss, but it's a tough blow to an experienced secondary. Waisome, however, is coming off of a strong spring game. Hunter could then remain at the Nickel spot.
In the punt return game, Lamarcus Joyner and Rashad Greene as well as perhaps Marvin Bracy and Karlos Williams could fill in.
