Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent has served his time.

Brent was released from jail Sunday after being convicted of intoxication manslaughter, killing his friend and teammate Jerry Brown. Brent had a blood-alcohol level over twice the legal limit.

Brent is now required to go to a rehab facility to complete his six-month sentence.

Brent announced his retirement.

He may choose to play again, though. However, Brent could be facing a potential suspension from the NFL.
