Filed under "You can't make this stuff up," former New York Jets cornerback Cliff Harris was arrested for the third time in nine days on Thursday, according to Fox 12 KPTV.
Harris, who was released last week by the Jets following a marijuana charge, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly shoving his girlfriend at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Oregon.
As he was on his way to court to answer for the charge against the girlfriend, Harris was stopped for speeding and found not to have a valid driver's license. The police officer would not let Harris drive the rest of the way to court, so he had to get a ride. By the time he arrived some 90 minutes late, the judge had him arrested through a bench warrant for failure to appear.
That marked Harris' third run-in with the law in nine days. To our knowlege, not even Pacman Jones, Kenny Britt or the late Chris Henry had that many arrests in such a short span. - making Harris' accomplishment truly unique.
Should he get another shot in the NFL, chances are good that a meeting with Commissioner Roger Goodell might be a part of that next chance for Harris.
