Davonte Neal, whose transfer from Notre Dame was made official by Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly on March 28, is coming home.
The former four-star receiver recruit has decided to continue his football career at Arizona, where he will play for Rich Rodriguez and the Wildcats, per Blue and Gold Illustrated.
The Scottsdale, AZ, native was the fourth player in ND's Class of 2012 that has elected to play elsewhere, including cornerback Tee Shepard, quarterback Gunner Kiel and receiver Justin Ferguson. Neal will get a chance to play closer to his family, including his daughter. He was very close to choosing in-state Arizona in his initial recruiting process.
Neal will likely get a chance to line up at a variety of spots in Rodriguez's spread offense after sitting out the 2013 season.
