Class of 2012 signee Jamil Pollard has decided to leave Penn State following the NCAA's sanctions against the Nittany Lions program.
According to his high school coach, Clyde Folsom, the defensive tackle will move on to play at Rutgers.
The 6-4, 280-pound West Deptford High School (Westville, NJ) product also held offers from Iowa, Florida and Alabama when he was being recruited as a prep star, but the Scarlet Knights were able to find room for him after the sanctions against PSU.
Before he lands in Piscataway, however, Pollard will finish summer school in State College.
Due to the sanctions against the Nittany Lions, Pollard will be available to play immediately and will be an added bonus to a Scarlet Knights defense that should be one of the best in the Big East.
