Fox: Manning’s health should continue to improve

Denver Broncos coach John Fox said Thursday that quarterback Peyton Manning's health should continue to improve in 2013.

Manning had four neck procedures that cost him all of the 2011 season and eventually played a role in his release by the Indianapolis Colts. But Fox said at the NFL Combine that the neck surgeries, since they were related to nerve endings, should continue to get better for 2013.

The big question in that regard might be whether Manning's improved health will help him regain some more of the velocity in his throwing arm. Manning's strength appeared to improve as the season went on, and the quarterback was certainly able to adjust to any lost mph on his fastball, leading Denver to a 13-3 record and the top seed in the AFC playoffs.
