Offensive lineman expected to sign with team soon Brad Biggs
Former Chicago Bears first-round draft pick Chris Williams visited his third team in as many days today.
Williams met with the San Diego Chargers, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 in Phoenix. Williams had a workout with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday and started his free-agent tour on Wednesday in Philadelphia with the Eagles.
There will be no shortage of options for Williams and he is probably trying to identify a location that will give him a chance to get on the field this season. If he signs a one-year deal and and gets a chance to play, he could help himself in free agency. Of course, it is possible he could be fielding multi-year offers.
Williams has versatility because he can play every spot on the line but center. Some consider him a better option at tackle while some think he’s best suited at guard. He started 20 games for the Bears at left guard and 18 at the two tackle spots.
Williams is expected to sign soon.
