Hugh Freeze will officially be introduced as the next head coach at Ole Miss at a Monday afternoon press conference.

The Arkansas State head coach, who led the Red Wolves to their first winning season since 1995 with a 10-2 record this fall, replaces the ousted Houston Nutt. The Rebels went 2-10 this season -- their worst campaign in school history -- and Nutt was fired after four seasons in Oxford. They finished 2011 in midst of a school-record 14-game losing streak in SEC play.

Freeze is familiar with the Ole Miss program, as he coached in Oxford for three seasons as an assistant to Ed Orgeron. He runs an up-tempo offensive scheme, and he led a major improvement of the Red Wolves' offense in 2010 when he was coordinator, turning the unit into the No. 43 offense in the nation. He was promoted to head coach when Steve Roberts was fired after last season. In two seasons as head coach at NAIA Lambuth before his stint with the Red Wolves, he went 20-5.
