Could Mt. McKinnie be a match with the New Orleans Saints?
Bryant McKinnie remains on the open market and has yet to re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens. McKinnie said this week that the Saints, who are seeking a replacement for Jermon Bushrod after he exited in free agency for the Chicago Bears, have shown interest in him.
Accoding to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints have held only “general talks” at this point regarding McKinnie, who excelled for the Ravens in their postseason run and appears to have given his career a boost again at age 33. But if McKinnie is seeking big money, that is not likely to come at this point in free agency.
Saints coach Sean Payton indicated at the NFL owners meeting that the position is wide open. Charles Brown is expected to compete but New Orleans wants to bring in someone else at left tackle.
