The New York Giants placed cornerback Aaron Ross on injured reserve wiht a back injury and cut offensive lineman Dallas Reynolds.

Ross had started the past two games and had an interception against the Carolina Panthers. He's a former Giants first-round draft pick.

They promoted cornerback Charles James from the practice squad and placed safety Will Hill on the active roster.

Hill has served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy and has been reinstated.

Hill recorded 30 tackles and one forced fumble last season.
