The New York Giants hammered out a one-year contract with veteran running back Brandon Jacobs, bringing back the former Giants power back to bolster a reeling backfield.

Starting running back David Wilson fumbled twice against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants also worked out running back Willis McGahee.

Jacob won two Super Bowl rings with the Giants previously and is familiar with the Giant's offense and could provide guidance to Wilson. He last played for the San Francisco 49ers.

The Giants needed reinforcements already with Andre Brown out for at least eight games with a broken leg.
