The New York Giants finally got their first victory of the season, defeating the Minnesota Vikings, 23-7/

"The players and coaches have great pride in what we're doing," Giants quarterback Eli Manning told reporters. "We just had to keep going, get rid of some of the mistakes and play the way we need to play."

Meanwhile, new Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman wasn't a hit in his debut for the 1-5 Vikings as Adrian Peterson rushed for 28 yards.

Freeman was extremely inaccurate and nearly prompted Vikings coach Leslie Frazier to take him out of the game. He constantly overthrew receivers. He completed 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards and one interception.

For the Giants, new running back Peyton Hillis scored a touchdown in his debut.

Manning completed 23 of 39 passes for 200 yards.
