The New York Giants did not escape their 38-10 whipping of the Green Bay Packers without an injury.
Running back Andre Brown was lost for the remainder of the season when he suffered a broken fibula, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
It’s a big blow for the Giants, who have been employing mostly a running back by committee approach. It will likely lead to more work for Ahmad Bradshaw and rookie first-round draft pick David Wilson. Brown led the Giants with 64 yards rushing in the game and scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season.
Bradshaw told Wilson he got his first break the same way back in 2007 when he was behind Derrick Ward on the depth chart and Ward suffered a broken leg.
“Ahmad told me the same thing happened with him,’’ Wilson said. “I’m definitely prepared, definitely take a good approach.’’
Blitz pickup and his role in the passing game will be keys for Wilson.
