The Giants decided to take a character risk and signed former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman John Jerry, the organization announced on Friday.

Jerry, along with Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, were implicated in a bullying scandal inside the Dolphins' locker room by NFL investigator Ted Wells. Jerry and the other two were accused of harrassing former Miami tackle Jonathan Martin, as well as other teammates and team employees.

Jerry started at right guard in 45 of the 57 games he appeared in over the past four years.

Out of the University of Mississippi, Jerry was a third round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2010.
