Veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez, who has been out of training camp for the Atlanta Falcons since the third day camp with special circumstances afforded him, was to return to the Falcons camp today.

Gonzalez, who nearly retired in the off-season, elected to return, but left camp to spend more time at home with family with a regimen to follow while he was away to stay in shape.

“It's time for me to get back there," Gonzalez told Jay Glazer of FoxSports. "I need to get some work with (quarterback) Matt (Ryan) and the offense. I'm excited."

Gonzalez says he expects to play next weekend when the Falcons travel to play the Tennessee Titans.
