Gosder Cherilus knows first-hand about going through microfracture surgery on his knee. It's a tough road back, especially when you're a player that needs to explode off the snap of the football.

So when he Cherilus was asked about Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney needing microfracture surgery for his knee, the Colts offensive tackle did not seem optimistic about the rookie's future.

"He's screwed," Cherilus said, via the Indianapolis Star. "His game is all about explosion. That's a problem. I'm out there dancing. I'm an offensive lineman. That's a different ballgame. He's screwed. I'm just being honest."

Cherilus described the surgery's rehab as a grueling process involving three-to-five hours of work in the morning and then another session at night. It will certainly take the right mindset to be able to go through the next nine-to-12 months of that.

That's not to say Clowney won't be able to do it. But Cherilus was noting how tough it could be for someone like Clowney, who relies on his quickness and speed off of the edge at his position.
