Congradulations to the Packers and us owners and fans. I love what McCarthy said about Capers, " He's one of our best free agent acquisitions". We can all salivate at the prospect of next year. The return of the corps of IR, including Neal, Burnett, Jones and, of course, Finley and Grant. Then there's Jolly. The real genius of Thompson is that the core players are signed to long term contracts already. Then, the draft. There is so much depth, and prospects for this team that it will soon be the most hated team in the NFL.
Kudos to the Packers and everyone in the organization. They pulled everything together at the right time. It took 3/4 of a season, but the offense got on track. Caper has been magnificent with putting different pieces in the puzzle every week. They accomplished all of this with 14 guys on IR. On the eve of the Bear game, they are the most feared team in the NFL.
If McCarthy refuses to give up play calling, he should be fired. I smell an 8-8 season.
What a difference a few weeks makes! It was just about four weeks ago when I was thinking that maybe the players were tuning out MM! Now it would appear that the Packers are in the thick of things for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs! This is Vikings week. I hope the Packers don't underestimate them or over look them as the Vikes will be looking at this game as if its their Super-Bowl. GoPackGo! Keep the pedal to the metal!
So 9-0, we overachieved, unfortunately listened to MM on offense, out-played the Jets on special teams, and our past-it-together defense shut them out! So much for experts - thank goodness they play the games. 5-3 at the turn, beats the heck out of last year so far. If MM can learn how to use a running game threat legit (don't go from the shot-gun 90% of the time - would be a good start), and James Jones can decide whether he is going to play or if not at least sit, this might still be a very good year.
Does it seem like the players have tuned out MM? Whatever the Packers do I hope they don't bring in Bill Cowher. My preferred replacement for MM would be Chucky. Cowher doesn't have a clue about offense. He'll get the running game going but that's about it. Chucky will get your running and passing game going. Besides, I wouldn't want to change from the W/C Offense. The WCO is our brand of football...
OPEN QUESTION TO ALL PACKER FANS: I would like to know why the Packers always seem to underachieve. Why is it that one or more components in every single game fail? Everyone is in agreement that the Packers have the talent to do great things. Have we seen it? Where is the offense that moves the ball at will? Why does the OL that executed so well in the last six minutes of the Detroit game disappear so often in other games? Why can't we see this team ever operate on all cylinders? Is it McCarthy failing to get his team ready to play?

The performance of the line in the last six minutes of the Detroit game should give a lift. Detroit knew they were running, but everyone (for a change) did their jobs and Kuhn did the rest. Outstanding. If we can do that, we'll be more than OK.
When in the hell is McCarht going to run Kuhn early to set up the run. the guy gets in ther and punshies people every time he has the rock.B.J. makes a cut to avoid and somebody falls on him, oh yeah for a loss !!!
I would like to see balance too, but I don''t see it happening with the current o-line. Clifton and Tauscher have seen their better days and Colledge couldn''t block his way out of a wet paper bag. It''s time to bring in Bulaga, Spitz, and Lang.
We need balance!!!! I can understand the idea to do a spread offense. But looking at our schedule it's easy to see we are going to face some tough tough defenses out there. We do not have a running back today that is capable of being a threat to the defenses. Personally I like Marshawn Lynch or maybe even Larry Johnson out of retirement if he's still available. Teams right now don't even have to plan to stop our run, they can just rush us every down and stop the running back on the way through. It's tougher on the offensive line as well. So why not if your Ted Thompson (whom I think has done an admirable job through the draft)for heavens sake grow a pair, and get someone that can come in now and help be that threat that defenses have to account for. And so that we can have a realistic shot at the superbowl this year. Send off Donald Lee and a draft pick. Come on Ted!
