IT AIN'T OVER UNTIL THE FAT LADY SINGS! Ironic that expression comes from an opera about Vikings.

Matthews, Barnett, Bishop, and Chillar at linebacker. What does this mean for Hawk?

Well it looks like one element that might be missing for a while in the D-backfield is Atari Bigby. His ankle has him on the PUP list. So his hold-out only kept him away from having his recovery/rehab aided/overseen by the Packer's medical team. It is hard to see this as being good. It takes-up a roster slot. It probably didn't aid the speed at which he might have gotten ready. And it leaves more instability in the d-backfield - though maybe Bigby isn't the answer, at least he provides depth and choices if he is healthy. This isn't the stuff champions are made of!

Fortunately, I'm not responsible for either the baskets or the eggs. It is what it is. I do know that cornerbacks don't grow on trees. The second tier guys are going to have to step up. There is no reason to doubt that the Packer plan to groom from within will fail. But if the DL fails, the secondary must be supermen to cover up that defect. The simple truth is that there is no defense in the NFL today that can stop a hot "elite" QB with multiple talented weapons. From that truth, it's a matter of degree only.

Come on man, your putting some eggs in PAT LEEs basket?!?! I know this isn't the same situation, but in my opinion thats like saying Jolly is suspended, but we still have Justin Harrell. Lee hasn't shown that he can play at this level and that is something that he should have been able to do by now. Besdies there are more ways than drafting too add depth, especially when I considered CB probably the 2nd biggest concern for GB this off season. I hope I am wrong and that Harris won't be getting burned, but we all know that teams will be more than willing to test him and his repaired knee.

Everyone says the Packers "didn't fo anything" to fix CB. You only get so many draft choices. You have Pat Lee, a 2nd rounder, coming back. Further, the Pack is real high on Underwood. Al Harris will work his ever lovin tush off to make it back, which is all you can ask. You can't bet against him. I'm think we'll see dramatic improvement on the OL. For the first time in years there is good depth. Colledge is capable of having a much better year a la 08 and he'll be in 1 spot. But I'll take penalties over having Rodgers sacked 50 times. It's preseason, and no reason not to be optimistic.

I got few ?s for everyone. First, Do you think Al Harris will be anywhere close to the level he was playing at last season? Of course I hope so, but GB really didn't do anything sure that spot up and Woodson as great as he is, now another year older hopefully it won't come back to bite them. Will the O-line figure out the penalties?! It was so sickening to get a nice first down on 3rd and 8 only to have yourself in a hole needing to get out of a 1st and 15. I hope GB can make the playoffs but they do have a tougher schedule this season having to play the NFC east and I think the Bears and Lions may have added 2-3 wins with the off season improvements, hopefully none of them come againt the Pack.

Different kinda "wake up". If I was McCarthy, I'd make the defense watch the Arizona game at least 1x a week. Watched it today, and I'm mad I didn't tape it. But it's like I said, the only thing that can stop the Packers, barring catastrophic injury, is the Packers. The pieces are there. While there are teams on a par with the Packers, I don't see any team significantly superior.

Sorry gents, but the only thing that can stop the Packers are the Packers. Of course injuries and the usual landmines along the way may have a bearing. All the pieces are in place which make the Packers competitive with anyone in the NFL. Like Bedard (see ESPN article) I'm concerned about mindset. Last year required the Tampa Bay game to wake up the team.

"THE ONLY THING THAT WILL KEEP US FROM THE CHAMP GAME IS........" A lack of pass rush on defense and pass coverage. That's just my opinion..
