Green Bay's three RFA's remain unsigned

As restricted free agents around the league are finally reeled in – Rocky McIntosh, Ray Edwards and Deuce Lutui signed tenders for NFC teams – the Green Bay Packers remain 0-for-3 in their efforts to bag their own RFA’s.

Safety Atari Bigby, defensive end Johnny Jolly and cornerback Tramon Williams have yet to sign their RFA tenders and are quickly approaching the deadline at which the organization can reduce the value of their one-year tenders while maintaining exclusive rights.

As Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes, the players have until 12:01 tonight to sign before the Packers can take action. Williams has been tendered at $3.168 million, a considerable raise over what he made last season. If the Packers reduce his salary, it will be to less than $585,000 for this season. Per Bedard, he’s in a position of leverage with the club as the Packers are thin at cornerback with veterans Charles Woodson and Al Harris ahead of him. Harris is rehabilitating his way back from a torn ACL.

Jolly also stands to take a major pay reduction. He’s facing felony drug charges in Harris County, Texas, and his trial is set to begin when the Packers are reporting to training camp. Jolly has been tendered for $2.521 million and why he has not signed that offer is anyone’s best guess.

Bigby is facing competition from rookie third-round draft pick Morgan Burnett for his starting job. Bigby’s tender is for $1.759 million, just a hair more than the $1.704 million the Packers could reduce his salary to if the team chooses to go that route. If the players are not under contract, they will not be required to attend the veteran minicamp next week, the finale to the team’s offseason program.
