Former New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Greg McElroy has quickly found employment since retiring from the NFL.

The former Alabama quarterback has been hired by ESPN as a college football analyst for the SEC Network that starts in August.

It's a multi-year contract.

“I am thrilled to be joining the ESPN family. College football has always been one of my greatest passions, and I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to take part in the launch of the SEC Network,” McElroy said. “The SEC provided me with five of the best years of my life, and the fact I will be able to cover its 14 outstanding universities was extremely appealing and exciting!”

The SEC has also hired Jesse Palmer and Tim Tebow.

McElroy led Alabama to BCS and SEC championships and was an Academic All-American.

“Greg was an integral member in what has been a dynasty of success at Alabama under Coach Nick Saban over the last decade. The personal understanding he has of the teams we will cover every week allows a perspective unavailable on any other network,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN vice president, production, college sports. “His intelligence, experience and first hand playing knowledge of playing in the conference on the biggest national stage will be an incredible asset to the fans.”
