Alabama QB recovered from broken hand Aaron Wilson
Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy is scheduled for private workouts with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys within the next week, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Per the source, McElroy will have other workouts over the next few weeks.
McElroy began throwing again two weeks ago after recovering from a broken throwing hand suffered during the Senior Bowl.
By all accounts, his Pro Day session on the Alabama campus went well.
"He's pretty healthy now," the source said. "He's been trying to get his arm back in shape."
McElroy scored a 43 on the Wonderlic exam.
McElroy is known for his accuracy, touch, reads and intangibles, but doesn't have the strongest arm.
He has been working to refine his throwing motion.
For his career, the Academic All-American completed 66.3 percent of his throws for 5,691 yards and 39 touchdowns.
He went 24-3 as a starter, an .889 winning percent with just 10 interceptions in 658 throws. That's one interception out of every 65.8 attempts, the top mark in Alabama and SEC history.
He finished sixth in career attempts, third in completions, first in completion percentage, fourth in yards and third in touchdowns.
McElroy won one national championship for the Crimson Tide.
As a senior, he passed for 2,987 yards and a school-record 20 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He completed 70.9 percent of his throws and was a finalist for the Unitas Golden Arm Award.
