Patrick Robinson is not in an enviable position right now. Not at all.

The New Orleans Saints’ first-round draft pick is feeling the wrath of defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Hopefully for Robinson’s sake, it makes him a stronger player.

Robinson missed some tackles as well as an interception on Thursday night in the preseason opener at New England. Williams took notice of the cornerback from Florida State and it wasn’t pretty.

“Patrick has a lot of skill but right now he doesn’t know how to play,” Williams said this morning. “Right now, I don’t have any trust in him. He has to take the next step up in pro football. He’s had too much down time and he doesn’t know how to take care of his body.

“Right now, he’s my whipping boy.”

Ouch. Sounds like Robinson would be best served to get in shape. Right away. The NFP's Matt Bowen has played for Williams before. He's seen first-hand how Williams can treat players that aren't meeting expectations.
