Rob Gronkowski got his big payday from the New England Patriots.

The Pats and the tight end have agreed to a six-year, $54 million extension, according to Ian Rappoport of NFL.com.

Gronkowski has emerged as a major cog in the Patriots offense with 90 catches and 17 touchdowns a year ago, and has helped to revitalize the tight end position as teams around the NFL look to find players with the size, speed and productivity Gronkowski brings to the table as a receiver.
