Patriots tight end has been out nearly four weeks with broken forearm. Terry McCormick
Tight end Rob Gronkowski, on the shelf with a broken forearm, returned to the practice field on Friday, the team said.
However, it is not likely that Gronkowski, who has missed nearly four weeks with the injury, will play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, according to the Boston Herald.
Players returning from such injuries sometimes do scout team work in practice to get themselves reacclimated to contact before returning to full duty and their respective position work.
