Haloti Ngata named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Ngata recorded four tackles and a sack against the Miami Dolphins during a 26-10 victory Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

He ranks third on the defense with 44 tackles and first on the team with five sacks.

“I think the guy’s playing fabulous right now, physical, outstanding movement, he’s getting pressure on the passer, pass rush I think is improved tremendously and it’s just a guy that to me in that area," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "You got to know where he is all the time and that’s a little bit of a problem because at times he lines up in a couple of different spots. I think that he’s playing outstanding as far as I’m concerned.”
