Hamstring injury could derail Dez Bryant in minicamp

A pesky hamstring injury could potentially sideline rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant when the Cowboys launch minicamp today at Valley Ranch.

It is a serious issue? Probably not. Bryant missed OTA’s this week with the injury, including Thursday’s finale, but this isn’t considered to be a serious injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

There have been rave reports about how the first-round draft pick, who the Cowboys traded up to select, has fit in. The key is to ensure that Bryant is fully healthy when the team begins its world tour for training camp, or at least the one that takes it from San Antonio to Canton, Ohio, and Oxnard, Calif., and all parts in between.

The Cowboys will have their rookies working out at the team’s complex into mid-July and that will be an opportunity to monitor him and make certain he is doing everything necessary to rehabilitate. No need to rush him out on the field for a look this weekend.
