Linebacker had said earlier Thursday he would return this week from knee injury. Terry McCormick
James Harrison's early optimism about returning from arthroscopic knee surgery to play on Sunday against the New York Jets is apparently unfounded.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette, who earlier reported that Harrison was likely to play this week, says now that Harrison isn't a go against the Jets after Harrison missed yet another practice on Thursday.
According to Bouchette, Harrison said at noon Thursday, "I'm great, I'm full go, I'm playing on Sunday. Run it."
Then he added, "I've been known to lie."
The Steelers also did not have safety Troy Polamalu available for practice on Thursday either due to a calf injury. However, there appears to be a chance that Polamalu will be able to play on Sunday.
