Haslam may be asked to step down during investigation

Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam may be asked to step aside from running the club while his company, Pilot Flying J, is under investigation for fraud, according to ESPNCleveland.

Haslam was, according to the report, in Browns draft meetings when documents were unsealed in a U.S. District Court in Knoxville, Tenn., revealing the details of a fraud scheme against Haslam's company.

Haslam allegedly knew that several of the company's salespeople had withheld millions of dollars in rebates to companies that had purchased large volumes of gasoline from Pilot Flying J and were due a rebate as part of that purchase.

The NFL has not commented on Haslam and the investigation, but a source indicated that Haslam may have to remove himself from any contact with the Browns while the investigation is on-going.
