Veteran gets the nod over Locker against Seahawks. Terry McCormick
The Tennessee Titans will start veteran Matt Hasselbeck in Saturday night's preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks, according to TitanInsider.com.
Hasselbeck gets the nod in part because he is the incumbent starter from last year, even though he finds himself in a battle with Jake Locker for the starting job this year.
“It wasn’t a big decision. I think Matt (Hasselbeck) deserves the start,” Munchak said. “If it means anything, it’s his hometown and where he’s played. He was a starter last year, so I think he should be the first one out of the box with the ball in his hand.”
Hasselbeck did say he is looking forward to the homecoming to a place he played for a decade.
It'll feel weird for me for sure coming out of the other locker room, the other end zone. I spent a lot of time there and have a lot of great memories there,” Hasselbeck said.
