Haynesworth fails Shanahan's conditioning drill

You have to wonder if there was going to be a conditioning test that Albert Haynesworth could have passed.

No matter what shape he showed up to training camp for the Washington Redskins, was coach Mike Shanahan going to pass him after Haynesworth skipped the entire offseason program, including the mandatory veteran minicamp in June.

Maybe we’ll never know the answer, but the short of it is Shanahan failed Haynesworth today, according to the Washington Post, meaning the defensive tackle will not be cleared to participate in practice until he passes the test.

Haynesworth reportedly did very well in the first part of the test but required a potty break before he could finish the conditioning drill. That sidelined Haynesworth for the first practice of the new regime. But it might not all be gloom and doom. Per the report, Haynesworth looks to be in significantly better shape than he was a year ago. Stay tuned. This one promises to be interesting.
