The Cleveland Browns have ruled out veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens, a decision that's not surprising considering Owens' agent, drop in production and general manager Tom Heckert's previous place of employment: the Philadelphia Eagles.
Heckert said that the 36-year-old "is not on our radar."
Owens played last season with the Buffalo Bills.
Other than a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals with the team deciding to sign Antonio Bryant instead, it has been extremely quiet for Owens as a free agent.
"That's not the direction we're headed," Heckert told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "There's a lot of factors that go into that. I think at this stage of his career, this isn't a place he'd be looking at. We don't plan on talking to him."
Apparently, that's the stance of a lot of NFL teams when it comes to the former Pro Bowl wide receiver.
