Former Browns GM also said to have unnamed team interested in him. Terry McCormick
Former Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert is a candidate for the general manager's vacancy with the New York Jets, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Heckert had been rumored to join the Arizona Cardinals in that capacity if the Cardinals hired Andy Reid as head coach, but the Plain Dealer report indicated that was not the case, and that the Jets have Heckert on their radar.
Also, the report said there is an unnamed team interested in Heckert, which is good for him because it can help create interest in him. And with the team's identity not being revealed, it doesn't really matter if that team is the Cardinals or the Saskatchewan Rough Riders, it is enough to at least make a team like the Jets, who plan to interview Heckert, among others, aware that they have "competition."
