Michael Fee, the lawyer that New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has retained in the investigation of the murder of an acquaintance of the football star, blasted media reports of an arrest warrant being issued for his client.

Per Wesley Lowery of the Boston Globe on Twitter, Fee went on the offensive to chastise the media in the matter.

The statement begins by saying "Over the past week, our client, Aaron Hernandez, has been the subject of a relentless flood of rumors, misinformation and false reports in the media. These include the repeated publication of a supposedly confirmed report that an arrest warrant had been issued for Aaron, a report that was exposed as untrue."

Fee goes on to say that the "false reports" did not come from "official sources," obviously a reference to the many anonymous sources that have been used in report of the death of Odin Lloyd, who was reportedly with Hernandez in the hours before he was killed. The arrest warrant that has been widely reported was said to be an obstruction of justice charge.

For now, the investigation continues, and Hernandez continues to be a centerpiece of that investigation.
