New York Jets receiver Santonio Holmes will miss the first part of the team's off-season work, which began today, as he stayed behind in Columbus, Ohio, to finish classes and rehab his foot injury, per the New York Daily News.

The Jets were sticklers in wanting Darrelle Revis to come back to the team for workouts regarding his knee, but don't seem as insistent that Holmes be present for the start of the off-season work.

Jets coach Rex Ryan indicated that he will check in with Holmes to make sure he is on track for week one after missing most of last season with the Lis Franc injury.
