Holding the seventh overall pick of the first round, Cleveland Browns team president Mike Holmgren indicated that he's not done overhauling the quarterback position even after adding Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, trading Brady Quinn and cutting Derek Anderson.

Holmgren told reporters during a press conference today that the team could draft a quarterback at its current spot in the first round, or possibly trade up in an effort to land Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford.

Per the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Holmgren said he likes Bradford a lot.

However, he noted that the Browns would have to trade up to get him.

"We haven't had that discussion yet." Holmgren said.

You gotta be kidding me.

I get the signing of Jake Delhomme. You need a QB if you don't have one. But this makes no sense. Bradford will be more injury-prone than Tim Couch and Brady Quinn put together. He'll never hold up physically.

The Browns have greater needs. Like a defense.

Hopefully this is just a bluff.

Please....Please....don't be so gullible! Its all smoke and mirrors! They are trying to force the mid-level clubs to panic.
We are still in the month of March and the Browns haven't formally interviewed a QB. Yet they announce that they are going to draft one in the upcoming 10' draft. Only an idiot or a simpleton would believe a word that Holmgren says about what they intend to draft. Because the possoible trade partner would just deal with the #6 pick so they can jump ahead of the Brown's #7 pick. Get your head out of your rectum and use your brain.

40 + days til the draft and a sucker will bite everyday, right Wendelinni?

Doesn't make sense... just call the Lions. I'm sure they'd trade down in order to avoid paying pick #2 money. I don't understand the public announcement because there are only 6 teams ahead of Cleveland and I'm sure they all have telephones.

The run on Delhomme jerseys cooled measurably on this announcement.

Maybe he could bring back Paul McDonald.

Get off the idea of drafting these little corner backs. These 5' 8" guys are too small. Take a big right tackle. Get that offensive line up to standard. Where would Breeze of Farve be without that huge line. If not that, then get a big strong defensive end that puts pressure on the passer. When was the last time we had a threat like that. Try Lenny Ford. Quite a while ago wasn't it. Do not trade away any draft choices unless it is quite a deal.

The browns need a quarterback so much. They have been struggling with one for several years. They will never get better without one.
