Quarterback Brian Hoyer has agreed to a two-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, per Adam Caplan.

Hoyer was most recently with the Arizona Cardinals, and received a second-round tender at one point from the Cardinals before being waived earlier this week.

Hoyer, who once was Tom Brady's backup in New England, was released in final cuts by the Patriots last year. He had a brief stopover in Pittsburgh when the Steelers were plagued with quarterback injuries, before finishing 2012 in Arizona.

Now with the Browns, Hoyer joins the fray that includes 2012 first-round pick Brandon Weeden and journeyman Jason Campbell.
