Hunter returns to practice field for Titans

The Tennessee Titans admit they have been cautious with second-round pick Justin Hunter's injured hamstring.

Hunter probably could have done more on the field in mini-camps this week and in OTAs the weeks prior, but the Titans held him out until allowing him to do individual work Wednesday, which turned out to be Tennessee's final practice before training camp as Coach Mike Munchak canceled Thursday's work and let players and coaches begin vacation one day early.

At any rate, the Titans admit to being protective of Hunter in order to ensure he is ready when training camp begins July 25.

"There were days we could have let him practice, could let him do a little more, but we didn't want to go through that with the hamstring,” Munchak said via TitanInsider.com.

Hunter is expected to be in the mix for playing time with what shapes up to be a deep receiving corps, with Nate Washington Kendall Wright and what the Titans hope will be an improved and focused performance from Kenny Britt.
