Steelers WR says he has no knowledge of plans to cut him. Terry McCormick
A report from NFL Network that the Pittsburgh Steelers are about to release Hines Ward to save $4 million under the salary cap is apparently news to the veteran receiver.
Ward, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported, put a response on his Facebook page that read, "I don't normally like to respond to rumors, but as I've said all along, I want to finish my career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. And as I've already told the organization, I am willing to work with them to restructure my contract to make sure this happens.''
The newspaper cited a source close to Ward as indicating the receiver has received no information regarding any plans to release him. The report stemmed from a discussion that the Steelers would cut Ward in order to get $4 million worth of salary cap relief.
