Vikings assistants Mike Singletary, Mike Priefer added Brad Biggs
Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery has at least 12 candidates on his list to interview as he searches for the club’s next head coach and it is expected there are more.
Minnesota Vikings special assistant Mike Singletary and Vikings special teams coach Mike Priefer have been added to Emery’s list, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Singletary had a Hall of Fame playing career with the Bears but was fired after less than three seasons as a head coach for the San Francisco 49ers. Priefer is a highly regarded special teams coach and he and Emery worked together at Navy during the mid-1990’s.
The belief is that the McCaskeys are pushing the interview for Singletary. Priefer is the third special teams coach to be on the Bears’ list and it would be a surprise if Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub does not also get an interview.
