Comments may have taken its toll on Jets QB's effectiveness, future influence. Terry McCormick
The New York Daily News article that quoted a number of New York Jets players anonymously making disparaging remarks about quarterback Mark Sanchez, has now raised the question about Sanchez's future as the leader of the team the locker room.
The Daily News says the Jets' pursuit of Peyton Manning come in and take over and potentially help mentor Sanchez should be a viable option for the Jets.
Still, there is no guarantee of that happening. After all, Sanchez at least publicly still has the support of Coach Rex Ryan. And despite Sanchez's erratic play through three years he has led New York to two AFC Championship appearances. There is also the school of thought that most NFL quarterbacks really don't hit their stride until their fourth or fifth season in the league.
Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was made the scapegoat, so new OC Tony Sparano will get the first crack at cracking the mystery that has been Sanchez.

Funny thing is, Sanchez has done more in the playoffs than Tony Romo and Romo is the second most hyped QB in the NFL.
Still it is fun watching the Jets circus act year after year. We need Rex to come put and this last team "the greatest team in history to not make the playoffs" or some other bombastic delusion.
While they're pursuing Peyton Manning, they should also pursue Arian Foster, Larry Fitzgerald, and Rob Gronkowski. Oh wait... this is real life, not Madden '12!
Guess the Daily News didn't get the memo....

Jets fans have taken there delusion to new heights if they think Peyton Manning would play for Rex Ryan. Its more delusinal then thinking making it to championship games = Super Bowl Rings
