Report says Colts considering Brad Childress for head coaching vacancy. Terry McCormick
People are quick to point out the unbelievable freefall the Indianapolis Colts did this season without Peyton Manning, going 2-14 just two years removed from the Super Bowl.
But much less is made of the Minnesota Vikings' almost as quick fall from grace, going from the NFC title game in 2009 to a pair of miserable seasons, including one that got Brad Childress fired midway through last season.
Despite the fall from grace, that apparently hasn't stopped the Colts from professing an interest in Childress for their coaching vacancy, at least according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network.
Childress was in Philadelphia prior to becoming the Vikings head coach and therefore as a connection to new Colts GM Ryan Grigson, who also came from the Eagles.

He's a coordinator at best
if grigs or irsay pick this guy i will flip. this guy tore the vikings apart.
As a Vikings fan I can say with confidence; if the colts pair chilly with a rookie qb, disaster will ensue. QB guru my arse. Guy had to be bailed out by the Favre magic. He was awful, I'd hire Tressel over Chilly.
There is no way the Colts will hire Childress as their head coach. This has to be just talk. If they did Colts fans are really going to be disappointed.
Hiring Chili would be a wise move by the Colts. He was the first coach to get the Vikings back-to-back division championships in the past 33 years of the Vikings' franchise history. He's a proven winner. He's also an astute judge of talent who would build the Colts' roster up to their talent level of their glory years. Make that move Colts!
