Jaguars' GM search likely to go into next week

The Jacksonville Jaguars search for a general manager, spearheaded by new owner Shad Khan, is likely to stretch into next week for a variety of reasons, reports the Florida Times-Union.

The Jaguars have already spoken to Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell and with San Francisco 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble, but both have multiple teams pursuing and interviewing them.

Also, the Jaguars are interested in talking to New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross, who is also being sought by multiple teams with GM openings.

In addition, the league frowns on coaching and general manager hirings being made on the weekend while the playoffs are going on, all of which means the Jaguars' search is likely to take several more days before a new GM is on board.
