The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Mark Lamping as the team's new president, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Both Lamping and general manager Gene Smith will report directly to new Jaguars owner Shahid Khan. Lamping is scheduled to start overseeing the non-football portion of the Jaguars operation on Feb. 27.
Lamping has plenty of experience as a high level professional sports executive, having served as team president of baseball's St. Louis Cardinals for 13 years and more recenty working as CEO of MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and Giants.
