Jaguars lineman totals car, still practices

The old Timex watch commercial proudly said the timepiece would take a licking and keep on ticking.

That's what happened Saturday to Jacksonville Jaguars guard Drew Nowak.

Nowak was in his 2001 Mercedes Benz on his way back to the team hotel Saturday when a driver of another car ran a red light, hitting his car on the passengers side and totaling it.

But Nowak, who missed his rookie season due to a foot injury, sustained only a cut on his elbow and was back practicing Sunday for the Jaguars, per the Associated Press.

Nowak says he "didn't really have any time to react. I just kind of tensed up and took it."

He added that is was good he was by himself at the time of he crash.

"If somebody was sitting next to me, they might have gotten really hurt," Nowak said.
