The Jacksonville Jaguars ended practice this morning with an exclamation point.
Offensive lineman Paul McQuistan and defensive lineman Walter Curry got into a fight on the final play of the workout with Curry losing his helmet.
Per the report, defensive line coach Joe Cullen got knocked down while trying to intevene as well as offensive tackle Jordan Black. They were sent reeling by a diving Attiyah Ellison.
Cooler heads ultimately prevailed as fullback Greg Jones, defensive end Aaron Kampman, nose guard Terrance Knighton, middle linebacker Kirk Morrison and Cullen were able to restore order.
"It’s competitive," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said in remarks distributed by the team. "Guys lost their temper, it’s hot. I told them my standpoint on fighting, ‘You can fight all you want, don’t wait for me to jump in there.
"When you’re done, we’ll keep practicing.’ It happened to be on the last play of practice. We don’t want anybody to get hurt. They are grown men; they sometimes get irritated.”
