The Jacksonville Jaguars' EverBank Field five-year deal has been finalized.
According to the Florida Times-Union, the vote was approved by a 14-3 margin by the Jacksonville City Council.
The deal gives the Jaguars an additional $4 million, allowing the team to keep the entire $16.8 million from the bank even though the stadium is owned by the team.
The council could have kept 25 percent of the money from the bank, but ultimately decided to play ball with the Jaguars.
“To me this is a no-brainer,” Councilman Bill Bishop said. “We have to do it. We have to make sure the Jaguars stay here.”
