Jahvid Best to take on coaching role at Cal

Done playing football due to repeated concussions, former Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best is going to take up coaching the sport at his alma mater.

Best is set to join the Cal coaching staff as a student assistant and is enrolling back in school to complete his degree, according to Golden Bear Report.

Best suffered his last concussion in 2011.

Best rushed for 2,688 yards and 29 touchdowns at Cal.

The Lions 2010 first-round draft pick rushed for 945 yards and six touchdowns in two NFL seasons, last playing in October of 2011.
