Jairus Byrd will be one of the most sought-after free agent safeties of the new league year if he doesn't have a deal before March 11.
The team that's taking a risk of letting him go is hoping that doesn't happen.
Byrd said that he and the Bills are still in talks and that something could materialize at some point.
“The door is not closed on anything," Byrd said, via ESPN.com. "I’m not closing the door on any opportunities at all. The lines of communication are still open. I’ve talked to [CEO] Russ [Brandon] and [general manager] Doug [Whaley] a couple days ago. We’re talking. So it’s not anything that’s hard feelings or anything like that. The conversations that we’ve had, we know what’s going on. We’re all on the same page. We’ll go from here.”
