Jamaal Charles returns to practice

High ankle sprains generally take about a month to heal. That's what makes Jamaal Charles' return to practice on Thursday that much more surprising.

According to ESPN.com, Charles was able to participate in drills with his fellow running backs during practice. While this is a positive sign, it would still appear unlikely for him to play this weekend due to it being a high ankle sprain, even if there isn't any ligament damage involved.

If Charles doesn't play, which should still be expected at this time, Knile Davis will start in his place. Davis ran for two touchdowns on Kansas City's loss against Denver last Sunday.
